Dr. Ken Robertson has made himself available to answer marriage-related questions. He takes these responses seriously, and prays about and prepare his responses thoughtfully. He has not always had the time to respond to everyone in a way that he desires due to his busy schedule, so he has decided that rather than respond to people individually, he would make his responses available to all readers of his website in the hopes that others may also benefit from his candid responses. Ken Robertson asks that all questions be marriage-related. When posting the questions and answers on this website, we will make every effort to take out or modify all identifying information for privacy.
Unfortunately, Brother Ken Robertson will not be able to respond to everyone's questions, but will answer as many as possible, and will choose questions based on the list of conditions below. Please read the following list before submitting your question:
The question must be respectful and appropriate (must not contain irrevrent text).
Ken Robertson considers himself a faithful Latter-day Saint first, and a psychologist, second. As such, his responses almost always contain spiritual as well as psychological content.
Questions should be different from those that are already posted.
It is helpful to receive only as much background information as necessary to help him fully understand your situation and question. When we post the question, we will condense the question with as few words as necessary for readers to understand the question.
If you want an emailed response as well, please let us know... Otherwise, we will assume that you don't want to receive an emailed response due to privacy issues.
We will attempt to keep your identity private. Because of this, we may change some of the details of your question if we feel that this would be best for your confidentiality. If you are concerned about our posting anything specifically, please let us know. We will respect your wishes! We will not change, however, the understanding of the basic question that you are asking.
Please understand that Brother Robertson will respond to as many questions as possible, and it may take awhile to get to the questions that he responds to.
Ken Robertson's responses contain his own personal opinions (and as such is not sponsored or endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints). Keep in mind that although Brother Robertson attempts to prayerfully understand each situation, it is impossible for him to know all the circumstances. With this in mind (and as it is with any advice from well-intended people), please do not rely solely on Brother Robertson's responses. It is the wisest course of action to be prayerful, follow the Spirit, and also glean wisdom from caring Church leaders.
If his posted responses are helpful (even if the question was not originally yours), Brother Robertson would love to hear about it!
